Slower and Peace Lifestyle

Welcome to Greenmount Beach, which is in Coolangatta on Queensland’s Gold Coast. Easily accessible by car from northern NSW, the Gold Coast or Brisbane, or a short 8-minute drive from Coolangatta Airport.

‘I think this is the best beach in Queensland, almost only locals come here.’ Kevin said.

What sets Greenmount Beach apart from many other beaches in Queensland is the slower and peaceful lifestyle. A beach away from the crowds, not many visitors so that we got immaculate sand and a wide, sheltered beach. This beach patrolled all year round to ensures your safety.

It is the perfect spot to relax and get some peace! Greenmount Beach could regarded as a secret paradise for local people.

Surfing in The Greenmount Beach

Greenmount Beach is part of the World Surfing Reserve and is an accessible location for surfers. The rolling waves are endless all year round, so it attracts many surfing enthusiasts. Greenmount Beach boasts a unique mix of excellent surfing, white sandy beaches, blue waters, and passionate Australian.

If you’re a surfer or want to learn, you need to visit Greenmount Beach.

In the early morning, the sun just emerged from the sea; the morning glow was splashing towards the sky. Kevin check the surf report online, which is suitable for surfing, so he packed up and ready to go surfing.

Many people were surfing there when he arrived. He greeted some friends. He said that surfing here made him meet many like-minded friends and everyone is friendly.

The waves at 9 to10 am are better, and the tide level is more appropriate. Waves average 0.5 to 1m which is suited to beginner and intermediate board riders. There are even many children who seem to be only 12 years old. They can catch the waves perfectly.

‘I explored this little slice of heaven 4 years ago and didn’t want to leave. That’s how incredible the beach is!’ Kevin said.

Zero Base

Have zero foundation for surfing? No worries!

Greenmount Beach is providing ideal waves and the perfect backdrop for you to learn to surf.

Kevin said he used to be a student in Walkin’ On Water Surf School. He remembers that the only thing he should do is bring his swimsuit because the senior coach will provide surfing wetsuit and surfboard. The courses usually start at 10 am, and 1 or 2 am.

‘ I would be a bit scared at first, but I finally took action and caught waves while laying on the belly on the board, not that difficult and very fun.’ Kevin said.

He spent a perfect time on it and met many interesting people during this process. Queensland people are amicable and easygoing, so that’s a relaxed atmosphere.

Hidden Wonderland

How can you not take pictures when travelling?

Kevin recommended a few more secluded wonderlands good for pictures.

The corridor that has been extended to the sea, which is perfectly integrated with the natural beauty of the beach. Provide the perfect background for IG photos. Friends around you must be very envious and shouted that you want to take a picture exactly.

Where to eat

‘Nothing better than a cup of champagne after surfing’ Kevin said.

Kevin head to Rainbow-Bay Surf Club which is across the road from the beach and can be reached in two minutes on foot. This is Kevin’s favourite bar. He orders a Quinoa Salad and a cup of champagne and intoxicated.

You can have a rest here after a day of surfing. There are many facilities in the bar like pokies, sport on a big screen TV and Keno. Delicious lunch and dinner are available here.

Around 6 pm, you can experience some of the most beautiful sunsets the Gold Coast has to offer.
